Vienna is the Federal capital of Austria and also its main city with the largest population. Architecturally, Vienna remains characterised by the buildings around the Vienna Ringstrasse, dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as the Baroque and art nouveau periods.
In addition to its numerous sights and historic buildings, the capital city has a broadly based range of leisure activities to offer – even for those who are on a business trip.
The sights range from Schönbrunn Palace (a UNESCO world cultural heritage building), to the Vienna Giant Wheel, the Steffl department store and the richly traditional “Heurige” wine taverns.
